Last week while I was in New York, I had the opportunity to work with Mary Kay and attend the Lela Rose Spring 2017 runway show! Today I'm sharing all the details from backstage – including all the info on the model's makeup and some skincare/makeup tips for the upcoming season.
Lela Rose is a NYC-based fashion designer regarded for her elegant aesthetic. She employs a brilliant use of color and handcrafted details (think lots of florals!) into a totally wearable collection. Lela Rose and Mary Kay Global Beauty Ambassador Luis Casco worked together to create a look that's reflective of the Lela Rose woman's lifestyle… with glowing, luminous skin and an emphasis on the eyes, while still being wearable from day-to-night.
Mary Kay empowers women to be beautiful and work at their own pace, which is also the Lela Rose woman! I'm including a bunch of photos from backstage and the show, but keep scrolling for the actual makeup products used.
Lela Rose herself even came in for a makeup touch-up before the show.
The actual show was held at a small restaurant in Soho, Cafe Altro Paradiso (one of Roses's favorite restaurants). Small salads and glasses of rosé were served while the models elegantly walked through the restaurant.
Here's the rundown on the models' makeup:
SKIN: Intense Moisturizing Cream & TimeWise Replenishing Serum + C are massaged into the face and neck to add a glowing base
FOUNDATION: TimeWise Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation is buffed into the skin and Mineral Powder Foundation is applied to the T-zone with a powder puff
BLUSH: Mineral Cheek Color in “sky blush” is dusted on the cheeks and drawn up to the temples
EYES: Eyes are prepped with Eye Primer and Mineral Eye Color in “hazelnut” is blended into the crease
Gel Eyeliner in “jet black” is applied midway along the lash line and dragged out to create a “half cat eye”
Two layers of Lash Intensity mascara are applied to the top lashes
LIPS: Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in “always apricot”
Mary Kay did my makeup before the show using their new Runway Bold Collection. It's a beautiful collection full of metallics and bronze hues! Here was my makeup for the day of the show…
